Central Coast Greens are standing up with the local community, especially Hands Off Our Farm (HOOF) against this inappropriate development planned for Mardi.
It is wrong because all Coast planning strategies keep residential estates east of the freeway, much of the land is flood prone but no floodplain study has been done and the evaluation of lost vegetation gives the proposal a score of minus 206 and endangered species such as paperbarks, Magenta Lilly Pilly, Golden Green Bell Frogs, Regent Honeyeaters and Yellow Bellied Gliders would be affected.
Taxpayers will have to pay for a huge sewerage upgrade and the site is immediately adjacent to Mardi Dam, part of the Coast’s drinking water supply.
