Abigail Boyd attended the Planning Assessment Commission hearing at Wyong Golf Club on Wednesday 5 April 2017 to present the Central Coasts Greens position on the Wallarah 2 coalmining proposal. Such is the concern about the proposed development, it was standing room only.
The Greens are strenuously opposed to the proposal on the grounds that it will adversely affect the local water supply and cause subsidence in the Jilliby Valley and surrounds. The Central Coast Council also spoke against the proposal.
Before the meeting, a sizable group gathered outside the Darkinjung Local Aboriginal Land Council building to protest against the Wallarah 2 proposal.
