"The Greens are a big part of the reason we have seen a change of government. More people turned to the Greens than ever before. We want to work with the next government to tackle the climate crisis and the inequality crisis."
Adam Bandt, leader of the federal Greens party, election night 21st May 2022
Gosford Electorate
Gosford is a Central Coast electorate based on central Gosford and suburbs on the western side of Brisbane Water. As well as Gosford, the electorate includes Kariong, Woy Woy, Ettalong, Umina and Pearl Beach. Away from its densely populated eastern end, the electorate extends west along the Hawkesbury River and north to include Somersby, Central Mangrove, Mooney Mooney and Spencer.
The Greens candidate for Gosford for the 2023 state elections is Hilary van Haren.
"Successive governments in NSW have failed our community and our environment. I am running for the Greens because I am confident we can move beyond corruption, private interests, and short-term decisions to a government that strives for positive social and environmental change."
Terrigal Electorate
On the Central Coast just to the north of Sydney, the electorate of Terrigal includes all the areas lying to the east of Brisbane Water. Its main centres are Killcare, Avoca, Kincumber, Terrigal, Erina, Springfield and Wamberal.
The Greens candidate for Terrigal for the 2023 elections is Imogen da Silva.
"I passionately believe in social justice, in an Australia that is fair and where the voices of the people are heard. For too long we have been governed by the two major parties who just aren’t listening to us on the environment, on corruption and on social justice."
Wyong Electorate
In its current incarnation, Wyong has existed since 1988. It previously existed 1962-73, and in the intervening years, was known as Munmorah 1973-81 and Tuggerah 1981-88. A Central Coast electorate based on Wyong and the suburbs on the western side of Tuggerah and Budgewoi Lakes, including Chittaway Bay, Chittaway Point, Mardi, Watanobbi, Warnervale, Wyongah, Gorokan, Kanwal, Lake Haven, Charmhaven, Blue Haven, Doyalson and parts of Berkeley Vale.
The Greens candidate for Wyong for the 2023 state elections is Doug Williamson.
"Make no mistake, we are in an existential crisis with sea-level rise, increasingly frequent storm surges and floods threatening our infrastructure and local properties with bushfires every other year. On top of these threats, the fossil fuel industry and privatised power industry continue to hold us all and our governments to ransom over power prices and the critical transition to renewable energy."
The Entrance Electorate
The Entrance is a Central Coast seat with two distinct ends, one in the northern suburbs of Gosford, and the other around The Entrance and southern shore of Tuggerah Lake.
The Greens candidate for The Entrance for the 2023 state elections is Ralph Stephenson.
"I have been active in a number of environmental campaigns and protests over many years including those initiated by Save Wyong Trees, and the successful Gloucester campaign against the proposed development of gas and coal. I am a keen cyclist, interested in creating more designated cycling tracks."
