Central Coast Greens – Who are we?
The Central Coast Greens are one of the local groups that make up The Greens NSW. Our local group covers the federal electorates of Dobell and Robertson, the state electorates of Gosford, Terrigal, The Entrance, and Wyong, and the Central Coast Council.
The Greens are concerned with global issues, such as climate change, poverty, justice, and sound economic management. We work locally with the Central Coast community for a more caring society, a healthier environment and a cleaner economy.
We hold regular monthly meetings and actively campaign for a fairer society. Come and meet us. Joining is easy and every member gets the opportunity to participate in policy creation and candidate selection.
Your support is most appreciated – the Greens will always put people above profits and stand up for a better future for all of us.
Hi there,
I attended the Greens meeting in Chatswood yesterday; 400 people turned up for the event. Two spirited speeches, by Richard and Mehreen, raised many very important issues addressed by the Greens. However, unless the Greens gain much stronger representation in lower houses, especially in the House of Representatives, their impact will only be indirect and limited only.
I had hoped that the Greens would announce that they’ll start a campaign to introduce Proportional Representation – Party List
but this seems not to be on their agenda.
I have booked for the lunch in Woy Way for 21st October and would like to have this discussed. A campaign to achieve this really means the development of informative brochures that explain why PR – Party List, used in 89 countries in the world. It is very important for the Greens Party to score more seats in Parliaments. This is certainly not the only advantage. It would change the toxic adversarial character of politics in Australia, widely complained about, for the better. This is a the time of crisis
and voters are looking for renewal. This could be an important first step. The Central Coast could take the initiative in Woy Woy.
