Central Coast Greens 2024 Local Campaign Committee Meeting (Members only)

This is your chance to make a real difference in our community and shape the future we want to see. We're excited to announce the launch of our first 2024 local election campaign committee meeting, and we need YOU to join the team!

Mark your calendars! Our campaign committee is well underway, but we need more volunteers.

Date: Saturday 13th.

Time: 3 PM - 5 PM on Zoom.

Location: Zoom.

The following are essential and option positions with which to run a campaign:

CANDIDATE

They are the face of the campaign and should spend most of their time talking to voters.

CAMPAIGN TREASURER

The Campaign Treasurer oversees the financial and accounting aspects of the campaign. They monitor all contributions, maintain financial records, and are responsible for compliance with the relevant electoral commission. They are in regular contact with and have the support of the GNSW office financial team. On local campaigns, particularly smaller campaigns, treasurers usually have the responsibility to approve expenditures and assist in the preparation and monitoring of the budget. Campaign Treasurers are often the only individuals apart from the candidate whose name is filed with the electoral commission and who should have experience in accounting or finance and use and be competent in Xero, the GNSW accounting software.

POLLING BOOTH COORDINATOR

The Polling Booth Co-ordinator coordinates pre-polling voting and election polling day booths. They will create and distribute all the polling booth kits and be responsible for coordinating set up and pack up on polling day. Ideally, this person will split their electorate into areas and recruit Booth Captains for each area, who will, in turn, recruit volunteers for their polling booth and oversee that booth on the day.

DIGITAL/CONTENT CREATOR ASSISTANT

Due to the changing legal environment regarding digital political advertising, the Digital Coordinator is essential for each campaign. The Digital Coordinator manages the campaign's social media and ensures the local campaign complies with electoral funding laws around digital advertising. The Digital Coordinator must receive training from the Greens NSW Digital Campaigner (Jeremy Park) before the campaign begins any form of digital advertising, including via social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram, etc).

COMMUNICATIONS/MEDIA COORDINATOR

The Communications/Media coordinator works closely with the Campaign Co-Ordinator and Candidate on all of the campaign's interactions with the media. They build relationships with local media outlets, set up interviews, and identify media opportunities for the campaign. They may help draft speeches and media releases for the candidate, create copies for the campaign website, and help the candidate develop their story" and bio for the campaign. The Communications/Media coordinator should have prior experience and contacts with the media, be a good writer and communicator, and be a proactive thinker and strategist.

STALLS COORDINATOR

The Stalls Coordinator identifies festivals and events locations where a local stall could be held. The book stalls at specific events organize volunteers and ensure sufficient election and candidate material, such as green flags, posters, and table chairs, is available on each stall. Stalls co-ordinators often deliver and set up the stalls.

PHONE BANKING/DATA COORDINATOR

The phone banking/Data coordinator organizes phone banking events, ensuring enough volunteers are calling, cutting call lists, setting up the phones, and ensuring that the data is entered into Rocket if you’re calling members/supporters and givers if you’re calling voters. They make sure volunteers are entering data correctly and correct any mistakes. They could also be responsible for cutting doorknocking and phone calling lists and keeping track of which volunteers and voters we have and haven't already contacted to ensure people are not getting contacted more than necessary.

DOOR KNOCKING COORDINATOR

The Doorknocking Co-ordinator is responsible for cutting maps for the locations to be doorknocked, contacting volunteers, identifying and organizing training for doorknocking team leaders, organizing doorknocking teams and data sheets, briefing and debriefing volunteers, organizing for the Candidate to be present, ensuring that the data is captured and entered into gVIRs. The Doorknocking Co-ordinator needs to be organized, energetic, and capable of motivating and managing volunteers

FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR

The Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for raising money to accomplish the campaign's goals. The Coordinator works closely with the Candidate, Campaign Coordinator, Treasurer, and GNSW Finance team to meet the campaign's financial goals.

EVENTS COORDINATOR

The Events Co-ordinator seeks out and identifies potential events ensures the team is fully briefed, organizes the events and volunteers, and works with the Treasurer, Fundraising Co-ordinator if it is to be a fundraising event.

LETTERBOX COORDINATOR

The Letterbox coordinator cuts maps and organizes teams to letterbox local areas. They ensure that each Letterboxer or team leader has the correct number of materials, that they are given a deadline for letterboxing the area, and that the flyers and maps are delivered to each volunteer with a contact list should any problems arise.

And many, many more…
